Beyond the practice of Annadhanam, Vallalar established the Sathya Dharma Salai to serve humanity. While Sanmarga centers have spread globally and his followers continue his legacy by providing food, Vallalar’s true mission encompassed a deeper spiritual transformation. Those who identify as Sanmargis carry forward his flame, ensuring that his message of compassion reaches every corner of the world.”
While it brings me joy to see Sanmargis performing Annadhanam daily across the globe, we must ask ourselves: is Jeeva Karunyam limited only to providing food? To reduce Vallalar’s vast spiritual legacy—a repository of supreme intelligence—to a single act is a profound misunderstanding. Was such a great saint born into this world merely to preach about meals? I urge all Sanmargis to contemplate deeper. Vallalar’s mission was the evolution of the soul, not just the filling of the stomach. Let us not limit a giant of wisdom to a single deed.
The discipline of Jeeva Karunyam (Compassion for Souls) is not merely about feeding the hungry. Vallalar dedicated an entire treatise to this subject—have you studied it? Consider this: if food were the only goal, why did Vallalar move beyond the Dharma Saalai to establish the Sathya Gnana Sabai? Why did he urge us never to miss the Thai Poosa Jothi Darshan?
Hospitality is a noble tradition, but food is not the ultimate end of human life. We must look beyond the plate and confront the true source of suffering: the relentless cycle of birth and death. Do not spend your days merely sustaining the body while you drift closer to your final hour. Contemplate the path to liberation—find the way to overcome death itself.
We were born into this world to live, but not to perish; we were born to follow the Deathless Way revealed by Vallalar. He did not merely preach this path—he walked it, transforming his physical form into a Divine Body of Light to achieve immortality. This is not mere history; it is a living reality. Vallalar continues to manifest before us, guiding us and gracing our lives as an eternal companion. This is the ultimate Truth—Sathya!
Let us walk the path of this extraordinary Saint who once roamed the lands of Vadalur in his physical form! By immersing ourselves in the sacred verses of the Thiru-Arutpa, we can learn to practice Jeeva Karunyam—the compassion for all souls—as a gateway to the deathless life. While we continue to provide food for the hungry, let us prioritize an even higher service: Gnana Dhanam. By sharing spiritual wisdom and the light of knowledge, we honor Vallalar’s true mission. Let us feed the body, but more importantly, let us awaken the soul!
