Mother Vaalai and the Path of Light: A Guide to the Tenth Place

Is it possible to reach Mother Vaalai, who resides at the Tenth place? Only with deep devotion can one grasp her Thiruvadi (Divine Feet).

You must ignite the light of the Kanmani (the pupil of the eye), which is the true ‘Divine Feet.’ by the Grace of the Guru, that divine light must be lit; and through your own penance (Tavam), that ignited light must be made to grow and expand!

As the light grows and grows, and as we hold tighter to the absolute truth of the Thiruvadi, the light within us will surge and enter inward, reaching the Divine Mother—the Goddess Vaalai at the Tenth place—with total humility.”

“One can truly grasp the Divine only by renouncing external attachments (Purap pattru) and holding onto the internal connection (Agappattru) with the sole, unshakable determination to reach the Tenth place(10)!

Performing various other yogas, conducting rituals, wandering from town to town on pilgrimages, or accumulating wealth and possessions—none of these will be of any use!”

To behold the Mother, you must perform penance (Tavam)! To behold the Mother, you must perform penance by grasping the light of our Kanmani (the pupils), which are the Divine Feet (Thiruvadi)!

First, hold firmly (Sikkena pidi) to the Divine Feet of Mother Vaalai! Then, hold onto your own eyes, which are the manifestation of Mother Vaalai’s Feet within you. With devotion, bowing to the Mother with humility and determination, reach the Feet of Mother Vaalai residing within you!

There is no other path besides this! Those who say there is another way speak out of ignorance. To realize that His Feet (Iru-paadham) are the only refuge—that alone is true Wisdom (Gnanam).

Abhirami Bhattar and the great poet Kalidasa were souls soaked in devotion and steeped in wisdom! Our Vallalar was no different. No one is born a Sage! Everyone becomes one only after birth, through intense penance (Tavam), deep devotion (Bhakti), and the pursuit of Wisdom (Gnanam)!

Therefore, bow down at the feet of the Universal Mother—Mother Vaalai!”
