Initially, John provided the baptism of water to everyone. Today, baptism is administered in all churches! Does it mean simply being immersed in water and rising again? If so, how would the Almighty Lord Jesus have given baptism through the Holy Spirit, which is Fire? Because it was water, you were immersed; but how does one immerse oneself in the Fire of the Holy Spirit?
Lord Jesus humbled himself before John, accepting him as his Guru, and received baptism from him! Such was the divine nature of the noble Jesus! Yet, he himself did not perform baptism in that same manner; instead, they [Jesus and his disciples] gave baptism to everyone through Fire!
How was this done? This is the greatest Secret of Wisdom (Gnana Rahasiyam)!

When one lamp lights another, it gains light! It represents the act of initiation (Diksha). The Guru is the lit lamp, and the seeker is the unlit lamp. Nothing is “given up” by the Guru; rather, the light simply spreads.
